What Is Elavil?

Elavil, generic name amitriptyline, is a medication belonging to a class of drugs known as tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). It is primarily used to treat symptoms of depression but may also be prescribed for other conditions such as certain types of nerve pain and to prevent migraine headaches.

How Elavil Works
