Is there an effective system to easily identify surgical instrumentation when having a lot of different cases/trays and different specialilties?

Thank you in advance

Yes,

We've developped a system six years ago based on markings on the instruments and tray's. We also developped a total hardware en software system to track and trace those instruments and tray's. With this system its possible to trace every instrument.

The dimensions of the mark can be 1 x 1mm. The system is an open system, that can be customized in every situation.

In answer to your question, we can recommend you the identification system from Scanlan: SURGI-BAND. It is a very good system and it's easy to use. It's a system based on colour coding. You can identify all your instruments by giving them different colour codes.

Our company, HOSPITHERA, sells this product in Belgium you can contact us at: [email protected] or phone: 02/535.03.00 ask for the business unit of Mr. VAN BEVER.

Apollo Healthcare can now offer an instrument tracking system that is already in operation in the United States and Australia. We are presently seeking hospitals that would be willing to work with us to develop the system for use in the UK and other European countries.
