Subject: Sterilizing/washing endoscopes

hi

we have endoscopes used for diagnosis and others using for treatment
after washing it we put it in the cidex for recomended time and we usually washed it after with sterile water.....
the problem is that the sterile water is not available now for as so can we use the distilled water after removing the scopes from the cidex?

Dear,

The Dutch - see: www.wip.nl, guidelines, decontamination: cleaning and disinfection endoscopes - and the Belgian - see: www.health.fgov.be/CSH_HGR - guidelines prescribe bacteria-free or sterile water for rinsing the endoscopes after disinfection.
There is no alternative.
