hi there.

can anyone help me i want to know when you do the bowie dick test can you put loan instrument sets that only needs to be sanitized (before sent back to the company) with the test or must the bowie dick test be done only in a empty chamber

Hello Janet,

the steam penetration test ("Bowie Dick Test") needs to be carried out on its own. No further load items should be present in the chamber, as it could affect the outcome of the test and invalidate it.

Hello Janet

The Bowie-Dick test is a diagnostic test to determine if there is removal of air, which will create the vacuum. The Bowie Dick test has to be run alone, with nothing else in the chamber. Running the BD Program with other packs, any leaking in would distribute itself throughout the load and may not be indicated in the Test pack.
