Can we use Eto Sterilization for all type of sutures [catgut, pga, silk, nylon, polyester, polypropylene, etc.]?

Generally the following sterilization methods for sutures are accepted: Gamma rays for silk, polyamide, polyester, and catgut. ETO for absorbable synthetic and polypropylene sutures.
Resterilization of individual packages-or strands of sutures material should not be done by any sterilization method.
Please see the report "Effects of Repeated Ethylene Oxide Sterilization on Synthetic Absorbable sutures": www.fda.gov/cdrh/fusenews/ufb38.pdf
