Subject: Reusable hear protection cleaning and desinfection

Looking for information and standards for cleaning and desinfection of hearing muffs used in steril inviroment (Hospital Operating Room)

From: Josy Holdener (Switzerland)   Date: 13 June 2004, 12:55 [GMT]
Subject: Re: Reusable hear protection cleaning and desinfection

Dear Vladimir

The outside of most muffs can be easily wiped with a soft cloth dampened with a disinfectant like quaternary ammonium salts or sodium hypochlorite. Some material corrode when alcohol is used. It is in any case the best thing to clean/disinfect earmuffs according to the instruction from the manufactuer.

Kind regards
Josy Holdener
