Subject: shelf life of sterile equipment

Dear Sir,madam,

As we train staff in infection control we are debating the issue of time allowed in shelf life, what would be considered an ultimate time and with what standards?

What would be the time if we are wrapping in double thikness muslin? minor instruments for primary health care settings or major for hospitals?

Shelf life is event related and depends on quality of warping mateial, storage conditions, conditions during transport, handling and more.
