This may seem a little oddball, but hopefully someone in this forum can help.

I am a research assistant in a biochemistry lab, and we treat our glassware with diethyl pyrocarbonate (DEPC) to denature RNase. The DEPC is subsequently broken down by autoclaving at 15 psi for 15 minutes.

My question is this: What is the temperature threshold for heat inactivation of DEPC? Our autoclave operates at ~123 C, so it must be less than that.

If anyone knows, it would help me tremendously.
