Subject: Door problem

Dear Sir:

I have noticed that I have a very common problem with the steam sterilizer door (floor standing). all these sterilizers have a vertical automatic sliding doors. The problem is the operator can not close or open the door easily. it needs a lot of efforts to do that. please note that this problem happened with different manufacturers.

Thanks a lot

tariq !

I hope I understand your Question properly. This is hot topic literaly with Sterilizer Engineers and they can burn the candles late into the wee hours discussing sterilizer doors. But your question seems to suggest that its a Pneumatic assisted door closing Mechanism. If so check the following.

  1. That between 4 & 6 bar of compressed clean air is being delivered to the door Ram (that big bronze mechanism under the door)
  2. All the holding screw on the door guide liner are finished flush
  3. The central guide holder for the door ram is properly fitted
  4. No air is beiing lost from the door closing mechanism
  5. The door interlock are not interfering with the closing procedure
  6. If vertical gear chained type,The cylindrical guide or self lubricating bushes, could be the clutch not meshing

To summarise Tariq The Pneumatic door ram is most suspect and you need to check the Air pressure, the door liners, the door vent release valves, the pneumatic door supply valves.
If all these fail replace the door lift (vertical) ram, Good Luck., I hope you find CLOSURE on the subject

Tariq.

Do you maintain the device in accordance with instructions?
Did you follow manufacturers "Trouble shooting chart"? Did you contact his Service?
What efforts? Is it hand lifting? pneumatics? hydraulic? electrical problems?
The door must be "Trouble free" constructed. It must comply with pressure vessels Standards. Is it?
