I want more technical information about formaldehyde LTSF sterilization method .

Also. what kind of biological indicator use for monitoring this method.

The biological indicator for formaldehyde sterilization is the same as used for steam and plasma sterilization, it is the Geobacillus stearothermophilus (its old name was Bacillus stearothermophilus).
For the technical part of formaldehyde sterilization you will find information in the Low Temperature Sterilization category, e.g., questions Q00112, Q00138, Q00226, Q00228, Q00232, Q00323, Q00501, Q00546, Q00631 and Q00628. If you still have question don't hesitate to post it on our site.

LTSF Formaldehyde is used for heat & moisture sensitive material, it is Steam comined with Gas Formaldehyde .
It is used at Temp. 55 or higher (up to 75). It is cycle that take 4-5 Hrs without the need for aeration.
In general here some technical description:

  • The machine come as Steam & Gas Formaldehyde sterilizer
  • High safety level including pre vacuum leak test & post sterilization washing cycles (up to 50 cycles) to remove completely all gas residuals
  • Must have effiecient vacuum pump
  • Formaldehyde should be in solid or liquid state then vaporised and injected inside the chamber
  • The machine must be double Jacjeted for better temp. control
  • Formaldehyde is an accepted solution in Europe as per EN1440
  • Low running cost
  • available in the market indicators of Biological & others.
