Subject: Testing of trolley washers

To what standard or protocol should washers of transportation trolleys be tested and validated. I am advised that the large size of the chamber makes thermometric testing impossible as in prEN 15883.

Dear James

I am the chairman of a German working group which has published a brochure about cleaning and disinfection of transportation trolleys and other goods to be washed in washer disinfectors with large sized chambers. Trolleys are reprocessed with a chemical-thermal disinfection process at 60 °C with a combined cleaning and disinfection agent followed by a rinse with dosage of a rinse aid.
Micrbiological tests are described in this brochure.
Unfortunately the newest version of the brochure exists only in German, but an older version from 1995 was translated to English and if you are interested, give me please your address and we should be grateful to send you this older version.
There is also a German standard DIN 58955 which describes the washing of trolleys and other goods to be washed like bedsteads.
