Can I sterilize EVA rubber by ETO method?

From: Josy Holdener (Switzerland)   Date: 27 February 2005, 09:21 [GMT]
Subject: Re: EVA rubber

Dear Maria
Yes, EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) resin can be sterilized by ETO.
There is no rubber in EVA material. The word rubber was misused because of some similar characteristics of EVA foam and rubber materials. The temperature range of EVA is 51 to 93° C. The required aeration time must be specified by the medical device manufacturer.
Kind regards
Josy
