Hi Pat,

Australia has national Infection Control Guidelines that were published in 2004.

It contains two sections on reprocessing of reusable devices that may be subject to CJD and vCJD contamination. You may find this information useful, as it is based on a meta-analysis of all the other available literature about this issue.

You can access this document electronically on www.icg.health.gov.au. Be warned it is a very large document to download and is about 500 pages in total. Alternatively - it may be quicker to download the applicable chapters - Section 31 and Appendix 9.

Hope this is useful to you.

Cheers
Terry
